At
Little Monkeys Day Nursery & Nursery School, the children
enter into the Pre-school phase when they reach their 3rd
birthday. This also coincides with the beginning of the Foundation
Stage, which continues through to the end of the Reception
Year of Primary School.
At Little Monkeys
Day Nursery & Nursery School, we believe that a child
should be given the best possible opportunities and experiences
necessary to enhance their personal, physical, intellectual,
emotional and social skills. To enable such development, we
aim to include the following in each nursery session:
-
A balance of fine and gross motor activities to develop
physical skills;
-
A
variety of interactions with adults and other children
to develop social and language development;
-
A
range of materials and experiences to develop creative
and enhance sensory development;
-
Varied
opportunities of imaginative play and exploration to encourage
creative, personal, social, emotional and language skills;
-
A
variety of free choice, adult directed and Pre-school
focused activities to develop a vast array of skills.
Early
Learning Goals:
Little Monkeys Day Nursery & Nursery School, works towards
the Foundation Stage Curriculum, known as the Early Learning
Goals. All activities planned for the three and four year
olds (including free choice, adult directed and focused),
are planned in accordance with these guidelines and it is
the skill of the nursery staff to ensure that all these activities
remain fun and play based.
